JOBS Act: Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act: IPOs and Capital Formation in the United States by Domestic and Foreign Issuers

The JOBS Act is an acronym for the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act, as signed into law by U.S. President Barack Obama on April 5, 2012.

The law was passed to encourage business funding and eased various securities regulations.

As written in a Paul|Weiss memorandum just issued, the JOBS Act:

"[implemented] sweeping changes to the rules governing IPOs and private capital formation in the United States by domestic and foreign issuers."
