German Spätlese Rieslings At NYTimes Wines of the Times: Wine as the Refreshment of Excellence

If you are a wine connoisseur, you know some of the top German Riesling wines.

At Wines of the Times in Dining & Wine at the New York Times, Eric Asimov has an article on German Rieslings at Choosing the Top 10 Spätlese Rieslings.

Wine is a matter of individual taste and style. In the words of the late Sheldon "Hack" Wilson, founder of the Chimney Rock Winery in Napa Valley, California, "wine is the refreshment of excellence" -- in moderate amounts, of course.

There are numerous German wineries that produce excellent Riesling wines.

Living on the Moselle River, we of course have our own Mosel Riesling favorites, some of which can be found among the top wine estates that belong to the Bernkasteler Ring.

In fact, many of our local winemakers in Traben-Trarbach produce excellent Rieslings. Take a look.

Economic Recession and the Welfare State: Google Search as a Paradigm Example of American Economic Incalcitrance and the IMF as an Example of Decadence at the Top

What relation does the welfare state have to the present economic recession?

Well, virtually none.

Articles such as the one below at Bloomberg give the idea that the welfare state is a significant factor in the world's economic problems, diverting attention from the main issue, which is financial and personal irresponsibility and decadence in top financial echelons -- the IMF comes to mind here as a paradigm example -- and the outsourcing of labor to virtual slave labor conditions in foreign nations.

See Bloomberg at Down, Not Out, in Paris as Crisis Whittles Away Welfare State
for one view of things,
...

but compare in the German welfare state the exact opposite development
Martin Steinbauer at the Harvard Policy Review in How Do You Say Kurzarbeit In English?

which suggests clearly that the USA is unable -- read "unwilling" -- to adopt practical economic models used in other nations because of the sheer backwardness and incalcitrance of American ideas and positions in the economic sector, which are much like Google search in NOT providing a definition of incalcitrance, i.e. if Google wants to define incalcitrant instead, it does -- the responsible Google search software engineers should be outsourced to Siberia...

...
and then see an article suggesting that the welfare state serves as a buffer against the otherwise probably much more massive negative effects of recessions:
