Baghdad: Money Talks

Some interesting news about Iraq from Europe, in a round-a-bout way...or...this could be entitled "the essentials of the world are always found in the small print"....

The publication Stanford Lawyer, which contains alumni reports for each graduating class (our class is 1971), is something the Law Pundit always tries to read cover to cover because the alumni news gives him an extra perspective on life and living. The Winter 2005 Issue 71 quotes Dave Lush in a paragraph from Maclolm H. Furbush, class correspondent for the Stanford Law School Class of 1949. He writes (p. 42) in a quote also blockquoted in large print on that page:

"Those of you who didn't attend the 55-year reunion luncheon missed the scoop that the smart money is buying property in Baghdad. That's the word from Dave Lush, who came all the way from Mougins, France, to join us. Many ex-Middle-Easterners live in his area, and many are buying property in Baghdad."

That certainly gives us a clear statement about the impending future of Iraq, which clearly contradicts what we generally read in the news or see on television.

These are the kinds of things the mainstream news media should be reporting, but are not. It is fair to say that the actual course of world events is not only dictated by but also reflected by the flow of cash, rather than by the skewed reports out of Iraq tossed at us by the mainstream media business who make their money by sensationalism rather than by honestly giving us the full and complete story of what is actually happening.
