When Money Does Not Help: The Gloom of the Billionaires

John Melloy has an exclusive at CNBC's Fast Money titled Outlook Gloomy at Secret Billionaire Meeting.

We get a chuckle out of that one. The poor, gloomy billionaires.

It is a good thing that some of those of us who are not billionaires can keep up our spirits and raise our countenance. Somebody has to.

If you are NOW deciding if you should point the vector of your career toward making a heap of cash, maybe this secret meeting of billionaires will help you decide the right direction for your life.

Money is not everything.

If having billions in their pockets does not make people happy and optimistic, then maybe they should be doing something different.

Just a thought.

David Brooks Urges Republicans to Think About the Energetic Government that Helped Create America and will be Needed in the Future

An important article by Republican David Brooks at the New York Times titled The Day After Tomorrow urges Republicans to review the history of America and the great role played by "energetic" government, writing:

"Conservatism is supposed to be nonideological and context-driven. If all government action is automatically dismissed as quasi socialist, then there is no need to think. A pall of dogmatism will settle over the right."
